History department directs students in Ancient African and European sub-fields. History department has a team of qualified full-time historians and members in its academic staff. In addition, this department holds an academic library which contains about 100 books.
Its main objectives include:
- Training researchers in history, as well as school teachers and providing academic staff , research and educational institutes, ministries and governmental agencies.
- Teaching history on the basis of monuments and historical news, documents, and texts using scientific methods.
- Reinforcing curiosity, academic accuracy, and willingness to thinking and innovation and creativity, in this case, the past will help present and future generations find the way.
- Doing Uganda/African and other studies and investigating civil, political and military interactions of Uganda/East Africa with the world.
This departments contains two sub-fields in higher education level.
